Original "Diamant Werke Chemnitz" steel frame from 1975 (frame no. 7234355) with a frame size of 60cm. Rusty stains and scratches decorate the 43-year-old steel racer and give it its character. These type of frames are very sought after and hard to find in the market. Every single scratch stands for little piece of track cycling history! That's why we consciously did not modified, embellished or sealed the frame.
The ProLine drive train
Retro track bike meets advanced drive technology! Needless to say, the bike is powered by a Kappstein ProLine drivetrain. The Miche Pista Advanced crank carries a Kappstein Ruphus ProLine with 51 teeth and 144 bolt circle. Thanks to the special hard-anodized coating, the Ruphus is a trusty companion - stylish and durable!
Steel meets steel! For the rear, we used 630er stainless steel - the 14 teeth Kappstein Sprocket ProLine. It perfectly harmonizes with the Ruphus ProLine at the front. Thanks to the "Round-Teeth-Design", the Shimano 11-speed chain slides smoothly and gently through the tooth valleys of the sprockets and ensures optimal power transmission!
Rims, tires, hubs
The rims are just as retro as the frame. The Mavic Monthlery Route dates from the mid-80s. The spokes are trimmed 3 times and, as it was common practice at that time, soldered together for more stiffness. Conti Giro 22m Tubular tires are fitted to the rims. The whole thing revolves around a 36-hole Renak hub.
Keep rollin, rollin, rollin!
The black 1980's "Selle Italia Turbo Nubuck" perfectly fits to the handlebar tape, the pedals and the black chainring. Several decades ago, many professional cyclists already used this saddle. An very comfortable and ergonomically shaped cult object.
The CNC-made "HT-Cheetah-S ARS02" platform pedals are made of aluminum with exchangeable pins for best grip.
Old bike, oldest velodrome - more retro isn't possible!
